Social Events

Welcome Reception (Sunday evening)

Welcome reception is held during 18:00 ~ 21:00 of June 6 (Sunday) at of ‘Hiei-no-ma’ banquet hall of Hotel Fujita Kyoto.

Excursion (Wednesday afternoon)

Nature in Kyoto

Kyoto is surrounded by beautiful mountains and rivers. This course takes you a short trip to enjoy harmony of nature and historic scenery sceneries (max. 80 people).

River cruise along Hozugawa-river by traditional boat (controlled by experienced boatmen)
Arashiyama area, one of the most famous scenes in Kyoto.
Notice: This tour contains similar sightseeing points and tour with Partners' Tour on June 10 (Thu.). So the attendees who join partner tour are recommended to choose other courses.

Heritages in Kyoto

Kyoto was the capital of Japan from 794 to 1867 A.D. and has developed various arts and architectures which originated Japanese culture. This course visits famous temples in north-west area of Kyoto. (max 120 people).

▼Sightseeing points

Kinkaku-ji temple (known as ‘golden pavilion’), the most famous building in Kyoto and also in Japan.
Ryoan-ji temple, with the famous rock garden (Karesansui) based of Zen spirit.

Walking Kyoto

This is self-guided walking tour. The participants walk around North-east area of Kyoto, which includes small path along old  canal, and tranquil temples with gardens.

▼Sightseeing points:

Ginkaku-ji temple (known as ‘silver pavilion’), with famous building and variations of gardens.
Small path along old canal from lake Biwa, which is also called ‘philosopher’s walk’.
Nanzen-ji temple, the temple which is regarded as above all the other Zen temples in Japan.
·Murin-an, a villa build in Meiji era (100 years ago) with traditional Japanese garden.
·And other temples, shrines and museums could be arranged depending on your schedule.
·Honen-in Temple
·Eikan-do Temple
·Nyakuoji Shrine
·Heian-jingu Shrine
·Etc.

Banquet (Wednesday evening)

The conference banquet is held at Wednesday evening. The venue for banquet is ‘The Garden Oriental Kyoto, SODHO’, which was an atelier of Japanese Painter ‘TAKEUCHI Seiho
